The content has been carefully adapted, media files have been brought up to current standards and some links have been updated or removed. This page now serves as a small reminder of a great project. 9 nodes added. Each node has 2 XEON 2.8 Ghz CPUs and 4 GByte of RAM. The nodes were scrapped out by another institute, but we use them to replace old and slow nodes that were taken out of service in 2005. At this moment we have 86 nodes up and running, more than ever before.

17.09.2009

14 blades of the former cluster leonardo have been added to Tina. Each blade has 2 XEON 3 GHz CPUs and 4 GByte of RAM.

New hardware (harddisks + controller) and complete new setup (software)

Tina has been renewed: 64 boards have been upgraded to dual XEON 3 GHz CPUs, all nodes have now 2 GByte of memory.

During the last weekend Tina was shut down for maintenance.

After more than 3 years of faultless operation Tina shows first symptoms of ageing: the CPU voltage on several boards dropped below its critical value. We will switch off nodes in times of low usage to slow down further ageing. It's time for a renewal...

The 28 nodes will be switched on again, but we expect further problems with the air conditioning for the next couple of weeks.

The air conditioning at Tina's site has some troubles. To keep the temperature low, 28 nodes have been switched off.

Tina has gotten six new compute nodes. Every node has two 1.2 GHz Athlon CPUs.

New performance data. There are still some Gflops missing to get Tina into the TOP 500 list of supercomputers, but by now we know the bottleneck.
